Boeing has been operating on a software update since the crash of a Lion Air aircraft in Indonesia last October. In that accident, a sensor gave incorrect information about the aircraft, causing the nose of the device to plummet down.

According to sources, similarities between the approach route of the Lion Air aircraft and that of the Ethiopian Airways aircraft that crashed last Sunday have led to new questions about the system.

According to a Boeing spokesperson, the update will be implemented in the systems of the 737 MAX devices in the coming weeks.
