It took a while, but China did congratulate upcoming US President Joe Biden on his election victory. The Asian country had previously been cautious but has now congratulated both Biden and future Vice President Kamala Harris.

“We regard the decision of the American public,” said a spokesman for China’s State Department. “We congratulate Mr Biden and Mrs Harris.”
