EU considers continuing to deny entry to US citizens
According to the media report, the United States is on a list of countries with many corona infections. The EU plans to gradually open its external borders from July.
According to a report by the New York Times, the European Union (EU) is considering not allowing US citizens to enter the country after the gradual opening of the EU border in July due to the coronavirus pandemic. There is a provisional list of countries for which entry bans will continue to apply from July 1st. In addition to the USA, Russia and Brazil are also on it.
The reason for this is the continuing spread of the coronavirus in the United States, where more than 2.3 million people have already been infected with the virus, and 120,000 people have died, which is more than in any other country in the world.
Within Europe, most borders have been open again since June 15th. It is currently being examined to which third countries this may apply from July 1st. It was only in early June that the federal government extended its travel warning.
In March, the EU had already implemented extensive entry restrictions at the EU’s external borders. A few days earlier, US President Donald Trump had adopted the same thing for travellers from Europe.
