Gerard Butler does not think he will be approached for James Bond anymore

Gerard Butler (49) sees it no longer happen that he will ever play James Bond. The 49-year-old actor is said to have had conversations with the producers years ago but thinks he is now not fit for the role. He said that in a morning broadcast from Capital FM.

“I had a meeting about it about twenty years ago. But I think I have reached a good age when they will not call me again,” the Scottish actor commented with a laugh.

The actor is known for, among other things, the action films Olympus Has Fallen, and London Has Fallen, in which he plays a bodyguard at the American secret service. The third part, Angel Has Fallen, should appear next week. “I really love Bond, but the great thing is that we (the Has Fallen films, ed.) Have made our own franchise,” said Butler. “Our own Bond. That is much nicer than being compared to it.”

Daniel Craig is currently recording Bond 25, his last film as 007. This further fuels speculation about the next Bond performer. For example, the name of the 46-year-old Idris Elba has surfaced more often, although he himself has always denied it. Other actors named for the role include Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston.
