Google is testing a dark mode for its desktop search engine. When the system is in dark mode, the average snow-white Google page is also dark grey.

Dark mode has become increasingly popular among internet services in recent years. Most apps are now suitable for phones, and websites are also increasingly getting a dark mode. Google is now also testing a dark mode, the company confirms to The Verge.

If users have their desktop computer in dark mode, the familiar white page of Google turns dark grey. The letters are light grey; left are light and dark purple.
