Ralph Lauren is forced to cancel the fashion show by a coronavirus
Following on from a number of other large fashion houses, Ralph Lauren has now decided not to continue his upcoming fashion show in April. The well-known American designer did not participate during New York Fashion Week in February, because he wanted to show his fall collection in a special way. But now a thick line has been added because of the coronavirus. This reports ‘People’.
The designer has stated in an official statement ‘that health and safety are paramount’. “Now that the virus is spreading around the world, we have decided as a precaution not to continue with our plans for the show. We do this out of respect to our team, our partners and customers.”
The Italian label Gucci also cancelled a show that was scheduled for May 18 in San Francisco. Fashion house Prada, also Italian, announced that it would cancel a fashion show in Japan, which should have taken place in May. The French brand Chanel announced that their planned event in Beijing was also cancelled.
