The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is the most visited museum of the year.

Het Rijks attracted more than 2.3 million visitors, an increase of 9 per cent compared to last year. The number of young visitors also increased. In total, the Amsterdam museum welcomed 370,000 children, more than half of whom were schoolchildren.

The Van Gogh Museum attracted fewer people with 2.16 million visitors than in 2017, when the counter ended on a record of 2.26 million people. With the online ticket sales, which started this year, the museum has opted for a better spread of visitors.

The top 4 consists entirely of Amsterdam museums. In third place is the Anne Frank house with 1.2 million visitors and in fourth place the Stedelijk Museum with 695,000.
